How to choose a Teotihuacán hot-air balloon flight from Mexico City

Pickup is usually before 5am, and that's not a flaw — it's what puts you over the pyramids just as the light changes. Treat it like an early flight: lay out clothes the night before, set two alarms, and expect to be back in Mexico City by mid-morning with the rest of the day still ahead of you.
Read the weight and weather terms before booking
Two things are non-negotiable with ballooning: the per-person weight limit (check the current figure on the listing, roughly 150kg) that Mexican regulation requires you to disclose accurately, and weather dependence — flights reschedule rather than fly in unsafe wind. Build a spare morning into your trip if you can, and don't book your very last day in the city for this.
Pair it with the ruins, not instead of them
The balloon shows you Teotihuacán's scale from above — the balance and layout of the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Avenue of the Dead — but it doesn't replace walking the site itself. Some tours combine the flight with a guided ruins visit afterwards; if yours doesn't, plan a separate visit to climb the pyramids on the ground.
